The public face of the gun control movement demanded $1 million Thursday from the Florida-based grocery chain in a tweet, just one day after calling for a “die-in” protest at its stores.

Publix is being targeted by Mr. Hogg for its support of Adam Putnam, a Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate who is currently the state’s agricultural commissioner. The Tampa Bay Times reported earlier this week that Publix had given $670,000 during the last three years to Putnam campaigns.

Mr. Hogg not only sought atonement money from the grocery chain in Thursday’s tweet, he also demanded a pledge of ideological fealty to the gun-control movement.

“I call on @Publix to donate double the money they gave to Putman [sic] to the Stoneman Douglas Victims fund, $1,000,000. And never support an A rated NRA politician again,” he wrote.

The monetary demand came a day after Mr. Hogg called for disruptive demonstrations Friday at all Publix stores, one of the biggest chains in the Southeast and especially Florida, where it is the largest private employer.

“@Publix is a #NRASellOut,” he tweeted. “In Parkland we will have a die in the Friday (the 25th) before memorial day weekend. Starting at 4pm for 12 min inside our 2 Publix stores. Just go an lie down starting at 4. Feel free to die in with us at as many other @Publix as possible.”

When asked by the Tampa Bay Times about its support for Mr. Putnam, a Publix spokesman did not mention guns.

“As the hometown candidate, Publix has had a long-standing relationship with Commissioner Putnam,” spokesman Brian West said. “We support pro-business candidates, and believe Commissioner Putnam will make a great governor.”

  1. He’s the latest posterboy for the irrational left. He probably wouldn’t know a logical argument if it bit him in the butt. He, and they, are all about hate for liberty and personal responsibility and he’s found himself a way to be the focus of attention. He is certainly making a fool out of himself and I feel sorry for him and the people like him. If they don’t change their ways and quit hating people and start trying to understand what it truly means to love your neighbor, it will end up costing him and them eternity in Hell. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

  2. HOGGS graduated a couple of years back from a HS in Redondo Beach CA. He was NOT in this school in FL during the shooting!!
    google it!!

    1. You are absolutely correct. I find it “curious”, NAZI-wanna-be hogg-boy was not even NEAR the school, was already “pumped up” and ready to go, ( more than likely DNC- soros-“paid”,) and the “permits” to “protest” GUNS were already approved BEFORE the “shooting” occurred. I guess the “powers that be” think the American People are stupid and would not “see” that they, (law enforcement and FBI) KNEW they had a “loose cannon” to “USE”, were WARNED, but did NOTHING to stop him, (even though they KNEW) what was about to happen LONG BEFORE and decided to “stand down” for maximum carnage. DEMOCOMMUNISTS do NOT care how many lives are lost, as long as their “disarmament of LAW-ABIDING citizens agenda” is pushed to attempt to CONTROL the population or “eliminate” US as THEY see fit. THINK ABOUT IT. History repeating itself.

  3. THIS IS STILL AMERICA AND PUBLIX CAN GIVE THEIR MONEY TO WHO EVER THEY LIKE . THEY CAN BURN IT IF THEY LIKE . MR. PIG HAS A ALLIGATOR MOUTH AND A HUMMING BIRD ASS TO BACK IT UP . IF HE WAS AS SMART AS HE THOUGHT HE WAS, HE WOULD HAVE TO ROLL HIS HEAD AROUND IN A WHEEL- BORROW. I HAVE BEEN AROUND A FEW YEARS AND LIKE MANY OTHER AMERICANS , I HAVE DONE THINGS AND SEEN THINGS LITTLE PIGGY CAN’T IMAGINE AND HE THINKS I AM SUPPOSED TO LISTEN AND ABIDE BY WHAT HE THINKS AND REALLY HAS NO IDEAL OF THE FACTS OR WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT . AS THE LATE GUNNERY SARGENT R.LEE ERMEY SAID . HOG SAID” HE WAS GOING TO START A REVOLUTION , HE COULD NOT START A LAWN MOWER” . THERE IS ONE THING FOR SURE THIS WORLD HAS NO SHORTAGE OF DUMB – ASSES.

  4. While I admire the kids willingness to stand up for something; he should sit down on this one. Gun violence is a human problem, not a gun problem. Sad that the Publix organization seems o be entertaining this kid at all. I certainly hope they don’t give up the money. It seems like blackmail to me. I seldom shop anywhere other than Publix, so ever if they support a Republican, this AR loving Democrat isn’t going to shop at another store.

  5. This scumbag Hogg is a plant by the far left. He’s just another ass wipe that pops up when ever there’s a gun crisis . Teenagers killing teenagers is a mental problem not a gun problem. Why PUBLIX would cowardly give in to this is disgusting . Extortion is no excuse to sellout one’s freedom. Very Sad!

    1. Never mind that this kid fancied himself as a news commentator for a future network someday, I would say he pretty well torpedoed that, since he can’t seem to understand the real truth which was the fact that this shooter got his gun legally or from his dad, I’ve forgotten which. Ditto with a couple more recent shootings-Laws wouldn’t have made any difference at all…

  6. Every time this guy makes such a statement send the NRA-ILA a check for $50, in his name with and post as a reply on his Twitter account. No comments no rants, just the thank you from the NRA

  7. Mr. Hogg is a no good lying s.o.b. He wasn’t in that school during that shooting. He graduated a couple years prior from a school in California. This ding bat is getting paid for everything he is doing. Trying to disrupt the people into fights and protest. We as Americans need to protest him and have this thing locked up plus the person who is behind him. That person is a low life as well.

  8. Survivor?? From what i’ve heard, this guy was no where near the area where the shooting occurred. He’s just another lib-tard looking to get his face in the limelight. The truth is (in my opinion) simply this… The killer was not some deranged mental case, recently escaped from some hospital, some crazed drug addict or a terrorist from across the pond. The killer was ONE OF THEIR OWN!! A fellow student. Someone they were in class with. Someone who was probably mistreated. bullied, mocked and socially cast aside by these same students who now want to blame firearms because they know they were the ones who pushed and pushed a fellow student to violence. The truth will come out sooner or later. I’d be suspicious of those pushing the hardest for gun bans for they probably know more than they’re telling. I’d be questioning people closest to the victims he shot the most times. Not the the ones with the flesh wounds.
    Just say’n… JP …

  9. When is somebody going to do what his daddy should have done when the whinny little turd was 5 years old?

  10. Hope Publix don’t give in to this. Just got a new one in our area. Won’t go over well here.

  11. David Hogg is a fraud…true fraud.
He never attended msj high school.
    Democrats at work.
    God bless america and publix.

  12. This is a total disgrace for the true reason for the movemnet — protecting our children in schools from gun violence. He is blatantly trying to use his new found power to extort Publix. He needs to be shut down and replaced by someone that see the true problem — children with guns.

  13. When is the country going to say, “Enough,” with this tomfoolery? Civil disobedience has a price. Call the police and have them all arrested for trespassing. Once they are booked, they will have to live with the stigma of a police record for the rest of their lives. This will affect them in ways they can’t begin to understand, such as applying to schools, jobs, and the like. They will never be able to make it go away. Once they are in the system, their lives will never be the same. Protesters who were arrested for demonstrations during the Vietnam War are still paying the price for that today, so many years later. When I was a youngster, if I did something like this, my dad would give me “what for” for it because he knew the long term consequences for such delinquent behavior. He recognized that we were just stupid kids, as these kids are. You can’t put a 40 year head on a teenager’s shoulders. As for Publix, stand your ground and don’t let a bunch of kids dictate how you run your business. Show some courage, will you?

  14. Wow!Just when Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton were getting to old to stir the pot. Definitely extortion!

  15. The sneering little fascist hogg IS NOT a survivor of Parkland any more than you are. He was not in school that day. Stop peddling his fake narrative.
